This is a demonstration site for NightLight, a 'drop-in' template for TNG releases 13 and later that incorporates streamlined CSS, responsive web design that integrates with TNG's mobile display mode, and many features that can be enabled and disabled via template settings. NearDark2 is one of 6 eGenea Templates that utilize the same underlying framework, have the same features, and share the same design principles.
One of these templates is always active on the designer's own genealogy site, Lindell-Herndon Genealogy.
eGenea templates support the following 12 languages: Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, French, German, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, and Swedish. And this demonstration site has content in both English and Spanish.
eGenea Templates have a different design approach than traditional TNG templates. First, TNG's complicated pull-down menu system has been replaced by a simple main menu (still controlled in menu settings), a set of most used links, or 'Resources', in the template's navigation bar, and a table of additional links in the footer that can be customized by the site administrator. Second, eGenea Templates use a 'floating navigation bar' on detail pages and in mobile mode. This supports access to many useful features across the entire site even when viewing the site on a mobile device.
